EVENT: London International Disputes Week 2026

Join the Howard Kennedy Commercial Dispute Resolution team at London International Disputes Week 2026 where we'll be co-hosting a session on Thursday 4 June, alongside our co-host One Essex Court.

International Perspectives on Emergency Arbitration: Emergency Arbitrators, Remedies and the English Arbitration Act 2025

  • Date: Thursday 4th June 2026
  • Time: 4:30pm - 6:00pm (registration from 4:15pm)
  • Co-hosts: Howard Kennedy & One Essex Court
  • Venue: Howard Kennedy, 1 London Bridge, London, SE1 9BG

Join us for a focused seminar on the rapidly evolving landscape of emergency relief in international arbitration. As major arbitral institutions continue to expand emergency arbitrator procedures, and with the English Arbitration Act 2025 now placing emergency arbitrator orders and awards on a clear statutory footing, the framework for obtaining urgent interim measures has materially changed.

This session will provide international perspectives on how emergency arbitrators operate in practice, what relief they can grant, how their decisions are and can now be supported and enforced by the courts, and when parties should prefer emergency arbitration over court applications. We will also consider the strategic implications for time-critical corporate and commercial disputes.

Attendees will gain practical insight into how these reforms are reshaping arbitration strategy and reinforcing arbitration as a preferred mode of dispute resolution and London’s position as a leading arbitration hub.
